We did know who Mel Blanc was, one of the greatest voice artists of all time. I will never forget the incredibly kind thing he did for me.
We also knew who Christian Ludolf Ebsen Jr. was from The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones. Most people called him Buddy. We did a number of shows with him, and below is a picture showing what he described on just about every show.
He really was the original Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz.
